Week 14 update – We didn’t win! We are officially NOT the ‘Outstanding MAT of the Year’… But Plaistow Hill are the ‘Time Table Rock Stars’ champions for the 3rd time in a row!

We gave it a good go, we got shortlisted and made it to the final…but we didn’t come away with the trophy.

Even though we didn’t win it, I was very proud to be representing the LAT, alongside our ex chair / current vice chair, John Butcher at last Friday’s ‘Education Today’ awards ceremony.

Maybe next time?

And in other news…..

The Times Table Rock Stars battle has now finished!

So how did it all go and who won?

Plaistow Hill have won it for a third straight time in a row!

Hooe and Shakespeare finished in 2nd and 3rd place, but Plaistow Hill were very convincing winners!

Well done to Plaistow Hill!

Christmas in the LAT

This week I have had the pleasure of continuing my tour of Christmas events in our LAT schools.

For obvious reasons, it’s hard to show big, mass photos of children performing on stage or in church for permission reasons, but what I can tell you is the events I went to to very well attended by parents and that the singing was brilliant.

I can also reveal that, ‘Away in a Manger’, remains the most often performed song in the LAT at Christmas!

Special visitors to Knowle Primary

This week Knowle Primary School hosted a group of 21 aspirant headteachers from across the whole of the South West peninsula.

Four of our super new headteachers, who have been on the same course historically as the visitors, spoke to them about their experience of early headship.

Knowle was looking and feeling absolutely fantastic as our external visitors also toured the school.

Well done to team Knowle and team LAT!

A Marvellous morning at Mount Wise

This week I really enjoyed a visit to Mount Wise to have a look at writing across the school. It was really great to see the children enjoying their learning and showing off their writing progress in their books.

From early exploratory mark making in Nursery and Reception to some fantastic story writing in year 6, Mount Wise were on it!

Well done Mount Wise!

And that’s it for this first term. I hope you have enjoyed reading my weekly updates.

There will be no Friday update next week, as it’s the last day of term and you need to switch your devices off and have a well deserved break.

Thank you for all you continue to do for our children and have a fantastic Christmas and a happy new year.
