Ofsted at Knowle!
Ofsted have been back in the LAT and undertaken their first inspection under the new framework. As well as being our first inspection in the LAT, it’s the first in the city and one of the first in the country.
Knowle got the call on Monday and the visit on Tuesday and Wednesday. While I obviously can’t tell you all how it went, I am very much standing by the comments I made about the school, following my visit there a couple of weeks ago.‘ Thanks to Ben and the Knowle team for showing me around and good luck when Ofsted call. Although you won’t need it, because you’re doing some really great things for your children and your community.’
After listening to the post inspection feedback, we are looking forward to seeing the report.

Visiting Salisbury Road Primary School
This week I also visited Salisbury Road. Having been the headteacher there for a while a few years ago, it’s always a real privilege to go back. Interestingly, even though I now work on the same site and you might assume I actually spend lots of time in the school, I don’t. So spending the afternoon there this week was fantastic.

On Monday, I was lucky enough to spend a really lovely couple of hours talking with school leaders and children and watching the school in action. From reception to year 6, the school looked and felt absolutely stunning.

I was shown around the school by Ciara Moran, the school’s executive headteacher and Emma Benton, the Head of School. I was also joined by Leo and Maya, the school’s elected head boy and head girl. The 2 children were an absolute joy to spend time with and they were very happy to answer all of my questions.
A huge well done and thank you to Salisbury Road.

Thinking about the future with our headteachers
This week our headteachers got together to reflect on the learns and take aways from this week’s first Ofsted inspection in the LAT at Knowle.
……And there was a lot to learn!
Watch this space for more updates in due course.

The LAT’s super new girl band!
A bit of ‘Friday fun’ to lead us in to the weekend.
This picture caught a lot of peoples attention last week when we shared it. Julie is clearly the lead singer in this super LAT SIP team ‘girl band’ line up, but Helen and Carly are pretty good backing singers!
Band name suggestions so far include;
‘Girls aLAT’ instead of ‘Girls Aloud‘
‘LATerama‘ instead of ‘Bananarama‘
and ‘Take LAT‘ instead of ‘Take That’
Any further suggestions or alternatives by return of email welcome!

Have a fantastic weekend.
